Sometimes Dreams Do Come True: My First Conference Talk

Sometimes Dreams Do Come True
What's up everyone! I’m finally putting pen to paper (or fingers to keyboard). After being inspired by amazing people like Brittany Stewart at Agile Testing Days, I realized it was time to share my journey. And what better way to start than with a story about how dreams can actually come true?
The Spark
Just one year ago, I set a goal for myself: I wanted to become a public speaker. There was something about the ability to convey a powerful message and inspire others that deeply resonated with me.
It all started with a video by Vinh Giang. I remember watching it and thinking, "Wait, communication is a skill you can actually improve?" That single moment sparked a burning passion for speaking, learning, and self-improvement.
Fast forward to last Tuesday. I found myself standing on stage, delivering my very first talk at a major conference: Agile Testing Days 2025.
The Journey to Berlin
Let’s rewind the clock to the beginning of the trip. On a Sunday afternoon, it was time to board the flight to Berlin. With a big grin on my face and excitement in my stride, I made my way towards the gate. I knew something special was waiting for me.
The next two days were a whirlwind of experiences. I met Lisa Crispin—my mentor and hero in real life for the first time! I got to talk to tons of amazing friends, met the incredible Kulas Angeles and Brittany Stewart (Love you guys ❤️), and listened to some truly inspiring talks and keynotes.

There is something about experiencing this community for the first time that really resonates within you. It’s a feeling of belonging and inspiration that I will never forget.
The Talk
Tuesday, 14:45. It was time.
My heart was pounding, and I could feel my thoughts racing at a million miles an hour. The room was small, but it was filled to the brim. I think around 40 people had squeezed in to join the session. The prep work was done; now, it was showtime.
The talk itself flew by in a blur of adrenaline. I found myself gesturing passionately, moving around the room with an energy I didn't know I had. I was feeling a bit like a wild goose, but in the best way possible! It was exhilarating and nerve wracking all at once.

"Where would you like to go, and what mindset can take you there? … Thank you for listening."
With those words, I had done it. I had completed my talk on the Growth Mindset at Agile Testing Days 2025.
Reflections
Looking back, this experience taught me that the gap between "dreaming" and "doing" is often just the courage to start. If you have a passion, chase it. You never know where it might take you, maybe even to a stage in Berlin, sharing your passion with the world.

Thanks you friend for being apart of my dream!
